Have You Ever Seen An Angel?

Have you ever seen an angel?

I’ve always been fascinated by angels. I honestly don’t believe I’ve ever seen one, though.

Hebrews 13:2

New International Version (NIV)

Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

When I read that scripture, I think about the old TV series, Touched By An Angel. Remember that show? The angels were on earth, helping people with their problems. Near the end of each show, the angel announced to their assigned charge(s), “I’m an angel, sent by God.”

So, have you ever encountered an angel? Please share your angelic experience with me!

I do feel that I am visited by angels in certain situations, many times I know that a certain relative is guiding me. Since you mentioned Touched By An Angel, I wanted to share a recommendation for a great movie which is available on dvd and may be available also as digital download. Originally, the title was Foster, but later on the movie was re-titled as Angel in the House.

I have not seen an angel, personally. However, I have two angel stories you may find interesting. When my son was little, he was afraid of the dark. So I put a night light in his room. We also prayed every night before bed and I would pray he wouldn’t be scared. Standard prayers we pray for our kids, you know? Well, one night he told me he wasn’t afraid anymore. I asked why and he told me, because the angels told him not to be afraid because they were there. Of course I started asking questions. What did they look like? He said, “Real shiny.” I asked, “How many angels?” He said, two. Fast forward several years to my grandson, who lives in our old house and has the same bedroom my son used to. He was also afraid of the dark, had night lights, etc. One day he was visiting with me and in conversation, he tells me, “There are angels living in my bedroom. I instantly start asking questions. The answers I get are almost verbatim what my son told me years earlier; two angels, they told him don’t be afraid because they were there. And when I asked what they looked like, he says, “Real shiny.” My grandson is eleven now. He got saved when he was six (same age my son got saved). And we still occasionally talk about the angels in his room. I may write about that someday.

      Hi, Shelly!

Yes, you MUST write about that someday! Your son’s and grandson’s experience reminds me of something my dad told me once. He’d said that he’d heard that babies (meaning infants and toddlers) have seen angels. Sounds awesome!

We had a guardian angel in our home for awhile. We saw her many times. She sacred a would be thief away from the window he tried to come in through. Then we never saw her again.

      Hi, Jan

How long was the angel in your home. You said “she”, so I’m assuming she appeared as a female? Did she have wings? Could you see her face? Did she have a bright glow around her?

You said “she”, so I’m assuming she appeared as a female? Yes, it felt like the angel was female.
Did she have wings? I don’t remember wings. Just a long flowing robe.

You asked if I had ever seen an angel. The answer is YES! August 31, 2009 my son & I were in a car wreck. Our car flipped 3-4 times (per a witness I heard talking). We landed upside down in a ditch. While we were flipping I was praying for God to put guardian angels around my son. Derek is legally blind and had lost his wife two years earlier to cancer. They had a yours, mine & our family. I tried to cover him with my body while we were flipping (I was the driver). When we came to a stop there was no glass left in any of the windows (so no reflections) and the sun was rising in the east (the ditch was deep) and we were facing south. After I checked my son (he was unconsious) (sry about spelling) I saw an angel standing in front of him. We were upside down but the angel wasn’t. He had his left arm & wing wrapped around and behind my son, his right arm was stretched across in front of me. I couldn’t see his face because it was so bright (but you could gaze on it without hurting your eyes)and his robe was snow white. What truly caught my attention was how white his wings were. It reminded me of new fallen snow, when the sun first comes out and how it looks with rainbows dancing off the snow). The vision only lasted a few seconds but I felt a presence behind me (probably my angel) and somehow I knew it was God’s way of letting me know my son would live. No way they would have gotten me out of the car before him if I hadn’t seen the angel. They had to cut him out of the car, he quit breathing on them between the ambulance and the ER door. We both spent 8 days in ICU and months of rehab. I’ll never forget the feeling of being embraced in love and the feeling of assurance I had when I saw the angel in front of my son. I was never knocked out but my son was. I did faint when they released me from the seat belt and lowered me to a backboard. Its something I will never stop thanking God for and for His taking care of my son (he was 35 at the time). Even telling you about the experience I’m shedding tears. God truly answers prayers and blessed me in seeing the angel, feeling His love and taking care of both my son and myself. I heard the fireman say that if it hadn’t been for the luggage rack on top of my Suzuki Grand Vitara we would have been crushed to death. They were shocked that we were alive when they checked on us and that I was able to communicate with them. Only God made that possible. All thanks and praise goes to our Lord and Savior.

Only by the Grace of God. It was a long recovery but we both knew we were there and recoverying by God’s grace. I hope this helps others in times of need. God is real and so are His angels.
