Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses

Have you ever dated a wealthy man?

I read this book because I kept seeing this author’s name whenever I searched for Christmas romance books. It was a fun, sweet read!

When Abbey is hired to decorate Nick’s home, it’s like a dream come true! Abbey has always wanted to be an interior designer and she’s currently a nurse to Nick’s elderly aunt. Abbey is a single mom, and she wants to provide the best that she can for her six-year-old son, Max. Her grandfather’s health is failing and she wants to provide the best care as possible for him, too.

Nick and Abbey clash at first. Nick is used to throwing money around to make people happy. He’s mesmerized when he finds that Abbey views happiness a different way – he’s curious about his new designer and he’s unsure what to do with these newfound feelings. Abbey is drawn to Nick as well, but, feels that they are mismatched since they are so different. She doesn’t want her son Max to get too close to Nick – Max is fatherless and he is drawn to having a nice, wealthy male figure in his life. She wants to protect Max from getting hurt. What’ll happen if Nick and Abbey are unable to resolve their differences?

I really liked this clean, sweet read. It was festive and had so many Christmas elements entwined within the story. I especially enjoyed seeing Max’s reaction to seeing Santa Claus. Abbey wants her son to have a nice, memorable Christmas, and she’s doing all within her power to be sure her son is happy. She does the best that she can, but, she realizes that her son is missing out on some things since he doesn’t have a father.

I think the author did a really great job in showing how hard it can be to be a struggling single mom.  Abbey obviously places her son’s happiness above her own, and she hopes she can raise him best that she can. I also understood why Nick didn’t always view things the way Abbey did. He’s used to having his money to make things better, and it’s hard for him to imagine what life is like when you can’t always buy the things that you need.

Overall a great sweet story!

Valentine’s Day and a Preorder

Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? If so, what will you do to celebrate this year?

My husband and I will be attending an old-school concert. I might bake some heart-shaped cookies – depends on how I feel. I certainly don’t need the cookies, but, my sweet tooth aches sometimes and I need to have my dessert!

Do you have any special memories about how you celebrated Valentine’s Day as a child, and as an adult? If so I’d love to hear about them!

So, tell me how you will be celebrating Valentine’s Day. I’d also love to know about your Valentine’s Day memories, too!

I also wanted to mention that The Underground Railroad Brides Collection is now available for preorder! I authored one of the nine novellas in this historical collection. This is my first historical and I honestly believe it’s one of the strongest stories that I’ve ever written. Come and sample these beautiful love stories by some wonderful Christian authors!

Happy New Year’s Eve!

So, how has your year been?

It’s New Year’s Eve and I wanted to take some time to reflect with my blog readers my email list. This has been a good year for me writing-wise. I started my own company, Divine Desserts Publishing, and during Christmas 2016, I started doing boxed sets with other authors. I’d never worked with a group of authors before on a published writing project. It was a fun and lucrative experience. I made some new friends and I’ve found that it’s great to work in a group where folks share a plethora of story ideas.

For the first time in my life, I wrote a historical. The historical is a novella scheduled to be published by Barbour Publishing as a part of The Underground Railroad Brides collection in June 2018. I still have to pinch myself – I can’t believe I actually stretched my wings and wrote a historical. It was a fun experience and I found once I got started on the story, I was able to keep right on writing. If I’d not been required to write a novella, I sensed that my story could have been made into a full-length novel.

In my personal life, my husband and I have been busy our twelve year old son. I just find it hard to believe he’s twelve now! Seems like he was just born yesterday. Our son was busy with track season during the spring and summer and he also played soccer.

I’ve also been working on a novel partially based upon my husband’s life. I’m going to be releasing Southern Comfort in 2018. I’ve been excited about this book and I hope you’ll enjoy it too.

So, how has your year been? Please tell me about it!

A Husband For Holly

A Husband For Holly by Marion Ueckermann

Have you ever hired an interior decorator? Was it expensive? Were you pleased with the results?

When Holly is hired to decorate the office of the new parish priest, she gives the project her best effort, using her talents to make the office look wonderful. However, Christopher (the new Scottish priest) has much on his mind. He’s still reeling over his broken heart, plus, he has a wandering father who suffers from Alzheimer’s.

Holly is not interested in romance right now. Her decorating business takes up most of her time. But, for some reason, she can’t ignore the deep attraction she has for handsome Christopher.

I enjoyed this light, wonderful holiday story. This story also shows how hard it is to deal with an ailing parent.
