Happy Labor Day!!

It’s kind of overcast right now, so I’m not sure we’ll be going out to Greenbelt’s Annual Labor Day Festival. We attended yesterday because my husband wanted to listen to the Battle Of The Bands. If the rain doesn’t come, we plan on going back to the festival today. There’s a picnic at one of the local churches at 12:00, then we’ll go to the festival afterwards to listen to the bands again!

I hope all of you have a safe and happy Labor Day! Click on the image above to enlarge it! It’s beautiful…it’ll provide an oasis of vivid color to your day!

HAPPY EASTER!

Me, my hubby, and our three and a half year old son went to the church Easter egg hunt in the pouring rain today! When we arrived at the church, I said, “Honey, do you really want to do this? Wouldn’t you rather go home?”
My son said, “No, Mommy. I want to hunt for Easter eggs.”
So off we went with the rest of the crowd to get eggs. For the little kids, under five, the eggs were spread out in a field.

Hubby carried the umbrella and CJ (our son) walked around the lot and collected the plastic eggs.

I forgot to bring a basket, so we had to place the plastic eggs in my purse.

Afterwards, everybody met up at the church so that the kids could open their eggs. They were filled with candy. I said to hubby, “Wouldn’t it have been easier to just buy him some candy and skip this egg hunt? That way, we would not have been standing in the rain for the last half hour!”

When we got home, I boiled some eggs and my son helped to dye them using food coloring, vinegar and water!

It’s been a busy day!

Happy Easter! I hope all of you have a blessed holiday! Remember Jesus’s sacrifice for our sins!

Prayer For Barack Obama

Lord, please be with Barack Obama as he sworn in as our President today. Please let your Holy Spirit guide and protect him in making sound decisions as he leads this country. Also, Lord Jesus, help the First Family as they settle into their new roles in the White House.

In Jesus’ Name I pray,
Amen…

When Barack Obama is sworn in today, we all need to say a prayer, lift him up in God’s name as he takes the reins in the leadership of our country.

I hope everybody has a nice Inauguration Day.

New Year’s Day!

I’m going to be spending part of my New Year’s Day watching The Twilight Zone Marathon on the Science Fiction Channel.

Speaking of Twilight, I decided to read a couple of secular titles that have been haunting my shelves for awhile. I’ve been hearing about this book, Twilight, by Stephenie Meyers, for quite awhile. There was also a movie made based upon the book. I started this novel last night and, so far, it’s doing a pretty good job of holding my interest. I believe this book is geared toward the young adult market. I’m not much into vampire/supernatural stories, but I do read them occasionally.

Also, I need to draw names for my December Book Giveaway as well as my giveaway for The Shack. I plan on doing this soon, so if you haven’t entered these, there’s still time.

I’ll also be posting reviews soon for the novels White Christmas Pie by Wanda Brunstetter and Courting Disaster by Andrea Boeshaar.

Happy New Year!

I just wanted to wish everybody a Happy New Year! Do any of you have resolutions? I guess, mine would be that I need to make more of an effort to read my Bible daily (I tend to skip days if I’m tired or on deadline). Also, I want to finish this project within the first quarter of the year to submit to agents. I know my chances of selling this project are grim since the state of publishing has taken a nosedive lately!

Feel free to share your thoughts about the the Old Year (2008) and the New Year (2009). Did you keep your resolutions last year (or, better yet, can you even remember last year’s resolutions?) What are your resolutions for 2009?

Early Christmas Present!

I don’t usually blog twice in one day, but I had to comment about the fact that when I got home from work (my job closed down at 3:00 today), and checked the mail, I discovered that I’d received my monthly shipment of novels from Heartsong Presents. I’m a member of the book club, and in the shipment received, my novel, Milk Money was enclosed. It’s been officially released to the bookclub members! So, if you’re a member of the Heartsong Presents bookclub, you should be receiving your monthly shipment soon (that is, if you haven’t received them already!) If you receive them today, like I did, you may want to consider reading my book over the holidays!
