I’m giving away the following books this month. Also, I’m changing things up a bit: I’m choosing ONE WINNER for ALL OF THE BOOKS. Also, the list includes 2 NON-FICTION titles.
If you are interested in winning these novels, simply leave a comment addressing the following topic: purses! I was in the Coach store with author Linda Leigh Hargrove a couple of months ago and was commenting on the fact that women will spend hundreds of dollars on a purse. Me? I buy a new Coach bag about every five years! Seriously! And I always purchase a basic color like brown or black that will go with everthing. I only use one purse and the reason I don’t have multiple purses is because I don’t have the time, energy or desire to switch purses. My life is already complicated enough as is, and I don’t want to complicate it more by switching purses. While Linda and I were browsing the store, I noticed that I didn’t like the new style of Coach purses. I don’t like that C-pattern on the front of my bag. Also, their solid-colored purses had a pebbled texture, which I hated. I didn’t see any purses in the store that I really liked.
So, women, do you usually spend a lot of money on purses? How many do you buy a year? Do you like expensive brands like Coach or Dooney (or some other brand name)?MEN: How do you feel about your wife, girlfriend, significant other, sister, etc., spending upwards of four or five hundred dollars on a purse? Do you think women are crazy for doing this? So, leave your comment WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS in order to be entered into the drawing. If you don’t want to be entered into the drawing, but would still like to comment, then just say so when you place your comment on this blog entry.
Here is a list of the books that I’m giving away:

I’ve been in pursuit of the perfect purse for a couple of years now. I love love love browsing through the handbag section of nice department stores. If I had the extra money, I’d drop money on a good quality purse. For now, I’m content with less expensive designers like Liz Claiborne.
Recently at church, a friend and I were discussing how much money people spend on a purse. She caught the design on mine and thought I had purchased a Coach bag. Only in my dreams. 🙂
I have a couple of purses, but I don’t switch out for the seasons or to match my clothes. I guess I’m not that stylish.
Hubby asked one time why I needed so many purses (this was before I sorted and gave away the extras I no longer used). I asked why he needed so many fishing poles. 🙂
I am not a big purse person either and don’t change mine. It just seems too hard to have to do and easier to use the same purse. I will buy a purse as I need it usually once a year or so. I like the organizer purses so I don’t need to use a wallet either.
This is quite a nice giveaway. Please enter me in the drawing.
Blessings,
Jo

I love purses but I won’t spend the huge amounts for “name brand.” Usually I find beautiful ones at Penny’s and Macy’s etc. Last purse I bought was originally $100.00 and I got it for $36.00 That is how I manage to have lots of purses.

I don’t buy purses very often, usually have the same one for about a year before I get a new one! tWarner419@aol.com
If I had extra money, I may spend it on a new purse, but since that rarely happens and instead it goes to things like tires, food and clothes, I settle for one I like and get a new one once a year usually. I generally spend under $10 on them and do not care about the brand. I like them to be neutral, usually black so they match and they have to fit my large notebook wallet in it. I have one I love now and will probably not go back to the other kind again. It is a small backpack type, as I walk alot and my shoulder was aching the other way. Also the my hands are free to hold children and I do not have to worry about it being snatched!

Just wanted to thank you for my book! (Don’t enter me in the next drawing)
Merry, merry Christmas!
I carry a Kate Spade purse. It’s bright orange and I won it off the radio station – the only way I could afford something that large and name-brand.
Thanks!

I don’t spend a lot of money on purses. I guess I’m just not a “purse person.” I’d rather spend money on books! LOL

Me personally, being a teenager w/college sneaking up on me…I can’t afford many purses, or brand named…I just find one I like and buy it if its cheap($20 or less, for the most part), and I know i would use it for a LONG time!

I’m not a huge purse person! I’m more into totes but there’s no way that I’m going to spend more than twenty for a new bag. I try to get totes that go well with anything that I am wearing too! …but for now my purse is a diaper bag! Yes, with kids, things change!
I’d love to be entered in this giveaway! Thanks.
I have only bought about two or three purses TOPS in the whole 33 years of our marriage! I have during that time downsized to a fanny pack, having had two or three of those by now, instead of a REAL purse. You suggested the dollar amount of 4 or 5 HUNDRED dollars for ONE purse?? That is almost the amount of money we spend for one WHOLE year on groceries! I about fell off my chair when I read that question.
I always look at the fanny packs when I know my current one is wearing out, which isn’t often, and watch for a good deal. When mine finally wears out so bad I have to do something, I have the next one ready. Can’t remember how long I’ve had the one I have now.
If I need a bigger bag than the fanny, I use grocery bags to haul stuff or my son gave me a small zip bag that is a great size for three books and a few personal things I can carry with me that I use if I go somewhere fancier than just to town and back. I suppose if I used that real bag REAL often, IT would have to be replaced eventually.
I’d absolutely LOVE to be entered into your drawing for the books you have listed. I’d even offer to pay you back for the postage if I win them! Thanks for putting my name in.

Yes, I am a purse “purs”on- but I like the cheapies (picture Target or Kohl’s – and if I am lucky – garage sales!) I think of a purse as a way that I can still have something “funky” with out my teenage daughters rolling their eyes! I have discovered felting though and just knitted and felted my first purse – so this may be the beginning of something new altogether!
This is a wonderful bunch of books – please put my name in the “bag”.
Thanks

Purses:…..Hummmmm!
I don’t buy lots of purses. I’m picky. My purse has to fit just right on my shoulder. I don’t like a lot of compartments in my purse either. I want to open it up and presto there is everything. If I have lots of compartments I forget what is where and then when I’m in need I have to open every compartment to find it. By then the check-out clerk is wondering if this purse is really mine or if I stole it from someone else. Spend lots of money on a purse? Nope not me the last one I bought I found at a second hand for $0.50. Yep, that’s right half a dollar. I don’t like purses that fall over when I set it down I want it to have some stand up. I like one front pouch to slip my keys in so I don’t have to go hunting for them either. No, I don’t have one in every color. Takes too long to switch and When I’m ready to go I don’t want to have to think about what color of purse I need. Basic black or brown is good enough for me.
Oh, yes, I’d love to win some books that is why I’m rambling on. Please include me in the book drawing. Thanks.

I sooo love books I read about 10 books every 2 months and I would love to win this. I loveeeeee purses I just had to give some away because I had so many. If I see a different purse I buy it but I always buy on sale.
When I was 16 and got my first job, I used to have a different purse for every pair of shoes. I’d been poor and I liked to look nice on the job. But now that I’m way older, I have one purse for all year. I may buy a new one with many many compartments. Or I may find some at yard sales for back ups if something happens to handle. The last purse I bought I got so tired of as the straps enlarged and kept coming lose. I don’t like spending a lot on purses.
enter me to win the books.

I have so many “bags” (I have an adversion to “purses” for some reason) 🙂

I don’t usually spend alot on purses. With two small children I just couldn’t afford to. Could not imagine spending more than $30 on one.

I don’t spend any money on purses. My aunt gave me a homemade one a few years ago, and i’m hoping my sister will gave me one for Christmas this year, also homemade. Pease enter my name in the draw.
thanks,

I love handbags and have never owned any big name brands. I have seen the Dooney’s and those are pretty nice. I buy handbags $20 and under. 🙂 Maybe eventually one day I may own a Dooney as I am kinda envious of some people at work that own them! LOL 🙂
I LOVE my rose colored purse my hubby gave me for Christmas after years of only carrying black ones -it’s nice to make a change and go wild rose. 🙂
Thanks for having the drawing.

I’m not much of a purse person. I buy something serviceable, usually. If it really works well, such as organizing, then I’ll keep it until it begins to look shabby. I don’t have time, energy, etc. to change, either. I spend between $10.00 and $20.00, and some are pretty good brands.
Please enter me in the drawing. These books look great! Thanks!

What a great giveaway! I like you do not have but one purse. After years of carrying a diaper bag and oversized purse to carry all the stuff for my kids, I now have a small red purse and a long strap. I usually have my hands full and love putting my purse over my shoulder and NOT have it fall off. I can get just what I need in it, and nothing more. I’ll hang onto a good purse for a few years until it falls apart and then begins a long search for the next perfect purse. I’ll search for one that is on sale and it may take me a few months…
I had a friend give me a Kate Spade purse a few years ago. It’s odd how I can feel dressed up just by carrying that bag. I like to keep a few handbags in my closet but usually change out only seasonally. I , too, just don’t have time. OR the money!
Please enter my name:

I usually try to stick with just one at a time. If I’m going on a special date with my husband I may choose one from the closet that doesn’t fit too much inside (from my before mommy years), but for the most part just one. I will spend more on something I like, but don’t care so much about about it being a certain label.

I’m a very unusual woman when it comes to purses. I’m am a CHEAP purse buyer. I use the same purse until the handle falls off. I only have one at a time. The last one I bought was on sale for around 20 bucks. Like I said, I’m cheap. I’m picky though too. I don’t like them to have a million of those little pockets. I know that they say it helps keep you organized, but I have 3 little kids, so it always seems like I’m in a hurry when I’m leaving the store. Having to remember which pocket I put something in is just too much! :o)

I personally won’t spend much on a purse, I’m a bargain hunter and usually find a cute purse for under $20! And I stick with Black so it matches everything, and I usually use the same purse until it breaks (or gets worn out)! My current purse I’ve had for over a year! Thanks for entering me 🙂

I am cheap, I mean, frugal. I just can’t being myself to spend a lot on a purse. Being low maintenance probably has something to do with that too. I buy one black and one brown purse that usually last for a couple of years. That work for me. I definitely get my money’s worth.

I love purses!!! I don’t have the funds to buy like I want to but if I had the funds I would be in the Coach store all the time!! They are really great purses and if they give out you can get it repaired forever, you can’t beat that!!

I have one purse that I’ve used for a number of years now. I don’t spend a lot of money on them, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to.

I don’t spend alot of money on purses. I have a mother-in-law that is a purse freak so she eventually passes a new purse on to me. I rarely buy new purses. If you buy a new one, I do like to check out quality for discount prices. LOL TY I try to be very frugal when shopping for anything. I do believe you get what you pay for on most things. (shoes, clothing)

I don’t own a Coach purse, most of my bags are very unique. I’m really into the rag quilt totes and usually they are by someone on Etsy, I love handmade when it comes to purses!
I’ve heard of other Navy Wives (I’m a Navy spouse) going out and spending over 1000.00 on just one bag! Not me! I could put that money to better use! 🙂

My sister-in-law is CONSTANTLY buying new purses. I haven’t bought a new purse in years. . . I tend to receive them as gifts frequently and just use whichever one(s) I like best! I actually tend to carry big totes (on days when I have a stack of papers for work or toys and snacks for the kids, etc. . . )or tiny clutches with very minimal stuffing–keys, cash, cell phone and a lipstick.
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity! I haven’t read one of your books yet!

What I consider an expensive purse, is one that costs me little but holds much. I usually spend $12-$15 on a purse that holds a wallet that has hundreds of $$ and a checkbook that has several thousand dollars available to me. So, on the outside I may look as if I don’t have much, but on the inside, I’m pretty well off!!
My husband loves my frugality!
I like my handmade totes best, I’m not really into any specific designer bag! Its better to spend money on things we actually need, like stuff for the children!
