The Bible And The Weather

Do you remember, less than one week ago, I blogged about a snow storm in my area, and they closed my job on Monday, March 2, 2009 because of the snow accumulation?

Six days later it’s warm and sunny, around seventy-five degrees, and I’m sitting out on the deck with my family grilling hot dogs, hamburgers, and chicken!

My question is, isn’t there a scripture referencing a sign about the end-times where the weather is mixed up and that you can’t tell the seasons apart anymore? I was glancing through my Bible, looking for this scripture, but came up empty, yet, I thought I’d read it at some point! I searched the internet and found the same question posted on this website. But, according to this site, I don’t know what I’m talking about!

So, blog readers, am I confusing said scripture with something else? Does this scripture exist? The first person to give me the scripture I’m looking for will get a free book(s). Or, if you think I’m confused, just let me know! I’ll continue searching for the scripture myself. I want to say I read it in either Revelations or somewhere in the Gospels? Also, I’m not sure if it’s a full verse, or just a few lines of one verse?

I hope I am not annoying anyone with this reply to an old question. I too have encountered this and I was looking tonight and found I think what I was looking for, I hope it is the answer to your question Cecelia.
Luke 21:25 King James Version (KJV)
    25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

      Hi, Irene

No, that’s not the scripture that I was seeking. But, thanks for responding! I hope you have a blessed day!

Since climate change is of concern I thought about the scripture I read in Revelations about nearing the end when we are not able to tell the difference between seasons. Of course, a few months ago I donated my old bibles from 2000, so I cannot fact check. I’m not finding a single thing online either! This is SO weird!

      Hi, And
I don’t think the scripture exists. I recall when I first heard about it, I was in college, eating a meal at the dining hall with a friend of mine named Christine. She was telling me about a scripture in Revelations – regarding the end of times – an indication of the end of times is that you can’t tell the changing of the seasons. The weather will be mixed up – no spring, fall, winter or summer.

Honestly? I think it’s an urban legend. After all, I posted this blog post over ten years ago and NOBODY has come up with the right answer as of yet!!

Hello, keeping an old thread alive! I had this question today as it was a crazy snow storm in my city on Friday & today it’s sunny & 60 degrees. I always thought that passage was in the Bible as well, but as I searched relentlessly for it, I couldn’t find it. In fact, everything written about seasons changing relayed the consistency of God’s faithfulness & His character. It’s crazy how some unbiblical urban legend or old theology has been ingrained in our collective belief systems. It gives me new understanding on the verse, “My people perish cause of lack of knowledge”, and it shows how important it is for me to read the Word consistently for myself. Well, hope you’re having a blessed day!

      Hi, Felicia!
The weather has been crazy in my area as well!
It’s been 60 degrees over the last couple of days!
Husband said it’s supposed to get cold again soon.
Yes, we must keep reading our Bible and consistently as we continue on our faith journeys!
I hope you are having a wonderful day, too!
