Book Trailers

While doing a search on Youtube, I found a few book trailers of Christian fiction novels and Christian fiction novels that had been turned into movies. For the latter, the book trailer is actually a movie trailer, which certainly gives it a more professional appeal. Here are the links to the Christian book movie trailers I was looking at the last couple of days:

Book Trailers

More and more authors are using book trailers to promote their books. A book trailer is similiar to a movie trailer which you usually see before a movie starts. I’ve noticed you view a lot of these on Youtube I’ll try and gather up a few book trailers for Christian novels and post the links on the blog tomorrow.

Haunted Office Building

That term was going through my mind when I was at work this afternoon! We hear of haunted houses, but never haunted office buildings! I was thinking it would make a cool story…if I could write that type of fiction! I think of Peretti or Dekker writing a novel about a haunted office building…the workers are trapped inside as demons lurk around the corner…

Oh, well, maybe I’m working too hard since those things were going through my mind today!

Later!

Writing Contests

I just recently finished judging entries for two writing contests. One of them needs published authors for the second round of judging, so I volunteered for that, also. I want to encourage all unpublished writers to enter contests! It’s a great way to get feedback from readers and published authors! You may receive some great tips that’ll help you get published along the way!

New Creation Bookstore

I visited this store today and throughly browsed through the fiction section. I noticed that they had five Heartsong Presents titles, however, they were old, published back in 2005. I’ve been told that some Family Christian Bookstores stock the new Heartsong Presents titles prominently in their stores, with an end cap. However, I’ve never seen current Heartsong Presents titles in Christian or secular bookstores. Since I have a book coming out with them, it would please me to see the book in the store at the same time that the bookclub members receive their titles.

However, I did see PLENTY of Barbour’s state-themes anthologies. I also saw a few of Barbour’s women’s fiction titles.

Randy Alcorn, the author of the non-fiction title Heaven, has a novel out. I didn’t realize that. It’s called Deception. I’ve never read Heaven, since I’m mainly a fiction gal, however, it has crossed my mind to read this title. Maybe I’ll consider reading it when and if I ever get finished with The Purpose Driven Life. I also wonder whose idea it was for Randy Alcorn to pen a novel? Did his publisher ask him to pursue it since he was so popular in non-fiction, and this would be another avenue of writing for Randy to explore?

Speaking of non-fiction authors penning fiction novels, I purchased a novel my Michelle Mckinney Hammond entitled The Last Ten Percent. Ms. Hammond usually writes Christian non-fiction about dating, being single, and relationships. I wonder why she felt compelled to write a novel? I’ll definately post a review of the novel whenever I get around to reading it.

Thr3e, which was released as a movie last January is already out on DVD. I was surprised that it was available so soon after it’s theatrical release.

In addition to The Last Ten Percent, the other books I purchased were:
Sticks And Stones by Susan Meissner
and for my toddler son: All Things Bright And Beautiful

Charlotte…

North Carolina, that is. My family and I are going to Charlotte, North Carolina over the next few days. Hopefully, I’ll find the time to visit a few Christian bookstores along the way.

Teen Apologetics Conference

My next book, John’s Quest is about an agnostic who finally accepts God. Since John (my fictional character) is a scientist, he uses logic and science to try and discover God’s existence.

When I heard about Teen Apologetics Conference yesterday on the radio, I could imagine somebody who attended this conference, talking to John, giving him the evidence that God really does exist. It sounds like it will be a great conference.

Easter Eggs

I never dye Easter eggs, however, I figured a lot of my readers do. I found this site about dyeing Easter eggs. I know some use PAAS to dye their eggs. Since I have a young son, I figure I’ll be dyeing eggs within the next year or so, and they’ll probably talk about the Easter egg tradition in my son’s daycare. When I talk about Easter, I usually focus on the death and resurrection of Jesus, since that’s the true message of Easter. If I feel so inclined, I’ll be posting more Easter thoughts and musings later this week.
