Christian Riese Lassen

When a local paper interviewed me a few years ago, I commented that I had Lassen prints hanging from my office walls. His sealife paintings are so vivid and refreshing! Plus, he uses a deep shade of blue, and that happens to be my favorite color! When writing, it’s a good idea to decorate your office in a way that appeals to you, making you want to stay in that room and crank out those books! That’s one of the main reasons I have Lassen’s prints hanging from my office walls! It would be interesting to hear how other writers decorate their offices? I wonder what things other authors do make their writing space appealing?

This dolphin print is one of my favorites!

Most of the books that I own are in the room where I write. It is one of the least decorated rooms in my house and tends to be the messiest room as well.

I have found that I do not have a problem with staying in the room when I write; I have the opposite problems of staying in there when I need to be doing other things. As for decorations, they would do me little good if I had them. Especially with fiction, I get lost in the world that is formed by the words on the screen. Who needs decorations on the walls when he has Ellen’s Cafe, with chandeliers hanging from a high ceiling, oversized windows, a formal staircase, elaborate furnishings and the smell of pastries wafting in from the kitchen and tantalizing the senses? But that is just me.

I agree with you, Cecelia. I think I’d be happier in a nicely decorated space. Thanks for your helpful comments on the loop!
